EVERY CHILD´S DREAM MATTERS

Over 95million children study in classrooms without furniture.

Why SeatPack Matters

Over 95-Million African school children attend school without a place to sit or write properly, making physical classroom learning and literacy development difficult. This is largely due to the high unit price of traditional wooden classroom furniture (each desk/locker costs $80-$110 to furnish 2 children as per the regulations) (Tutu-desk, 2017).

With growing numbers of displaced/refugee school-children, building and delivering wooden classroom desks for remote schools has proven logistically difficult for governments and Impact budgets over the years, making furnished classrooms accessible to less rural schools (over 80% of primary school children are rural based in countries like Uganda alone).

We suggest rethinking how classrooms are composed so that learning is accessible to more remote and economically challenged school children.

Challenges in Rural African Schools

In the heart of Africa's rural landscape, school children face a myriad of challenges that impede their quest for education. These challenges are multifaceted and deeply rooted in the socio-economic fabric of these communities.

Limited Resources: Many rural schools are severely under-resourced. Classrooms often lack basic furniture like desks and chairs, forcing children to sit on the floor for hours, which is not conducive to learning.

Inadequate Infrastructure: The infrastructure in these schools is frequently insufficient, with many lacking proper walls, floors, or even a roof. This leaves students exposed to the elements, distracting them from their studies and posing health risks.

Accessibility Issues: For some children, the journey to school is a trek of several miles, often on foot and through challenging terrains. This arduous journey is not only tiring but also takes valuable time away from their studies and play.

Environmental Concerns: In areas where resources are scarce, environmental sustainability is often overlooked. The lack of eco-friendly practices in these regions exacerbates the challenges, affecting both the community's health and the environment.

The Digital Divide: In today's increasingly digital world, the lack of access to technology in rural schools further widens the gap in educational opportunities. This disconnect hinders students from acquiring vital digital literacy skills needed in the 21st century.

Together, we can transform these challenges into opportunities for growth and development. Join us in our mission to empower the next generation of Africa through education.

Transforming Education
One SeatPack at a time

In response to the multifaceted challenges faced by children in rural African schools, Zetu Africa introduces the SeatPack - an innovative solution designed to empower and transform the learning environment of these young scholars.

Ergonomic Design for Comfort: The SeatPack is ingeniously designed to offer a comfortable seating solution, turning any ground into an instant classroom. Its ergonomic design ensures that children can sit for hours without discomfort, making learning more accessible and enjoyable.

Durable and Sustainable: Crafted from eco-friendly materials, the SeatPack is not only durable but also aligns with our commitment to sustainability. Its robust construction ensures longevity, standing up to the rigours of daily use while minimising environmental impact.

Portable and Versatile: Understanding the long distances many children travel to school, the SeatPack is lightweight and portable. It easily transforms from a backpack to a seat, ensuring that students have a reliable and practical tool for their education journey, wherever it may take them.

Empowering Through Technology: In select models, the SeatPack includes a solar panel and a device charging pocket, bridging the digital divide by providing power for electronic learning devices. This feature is a step towards integrating technology into the education of these rural communities.

The SeatPack goes beyond being a mere school supply; it represents hope and opportunity. It's a testament to our belief that a conducive learning environment is the right of every child, and a step towards making quality education universally accessible.

Join us in this journey of empowerment and help make a difference in the lives of countless children. Together, we can reshape the future, one SeatPack at a time.
