We provide basic classroom equipment to children in low income schools by giving SeatPacks: school bags with a bamboo-classroom-chair, writing-board, menstrual-kit for use at school, and solar lamp-kit for study at home after dark.

Our Goal is to see more children from low-income families to transition from a primary education to a secondary school education by distributing the basic learning equipment they lack for use at school and home daily.

Why do we make and give SeatPacks?

In East Africa, approximately 10 million children below 15 years of age from low-income families study in neglected classrooms lacking both basic furniture and electricity (due to the high cost of wooden furniture at $100 per unit, with 99% of all schools off the electricity grid in Uganda alone). These factors greatly discourage children´s continuation from a primary to a secondary education and in the long-term, keeping them out of the employable future population.

Gifting 20,000 Children SeatPacks by 2030 means:

20,000 more children from low-income families have a chance to a build better future for themselves through a continued education at school and at home with solar lamp lighting.
Contribute to combating climate change by proving feasibility of replacing timber with bamboo as the key furniture material for classrooms.
Reclaiming up to 20% of the school year for adolescent girls in low-income families by delivering menstrual tool-kits.

1,000 SeatPacks for 1,000 Children

Take part in giving 1,000 children below 14years of age from low income families in Uganda SeatPacks by gifting below. School children from 20 primary schools in bidbid refugee camp, Chaka refugee camp, rural eastern and central Uganda will receive these SeatPacks. All schools identified have a population of over 500 children sharing averagely 10 units of furniture amongst themselves, and have no electricity at home to study after dark.
